Plan for the blog

So my plan for the blog reboot is to have this be more behind the scenes type content that did not make it to the youtube channel. So here is some additional content. The arches I have been working on are looking good. I finished up the fingerjoints for the 8 ft arch yesterday and ran off 120 ft of moulding for the Oak st house. Arts and Crafts Cabinet

So I decided to make a reproduction of an Arts and Crafts cabinet I found in Popular Woodworking's Arts & Crafts Furniture: 25 Projects For Every Room In Your Home. Valentines day was coming up and I wanted to make something cool for my spouse. So I picked up 55 board ft of quarter sawn white oak and set out to build something cool. So I got it mostly finished when the paying work started picking up. So my gift languished in a corner of the shop till Mothers day rolled around. I did manage to spare a few days to finish it. Big Stihl Saw

So when we bought the farm there was a really big fallen tree in the pasture.  One day I went out and decided to cut it up for bonfire.  I started cutting and realized it was a walnut tree, so I decided to slab as much as I could.   The grain is really pretty and it has some cool mineral streaking to it.  Fortunately I have a thing for big chainsaws so I was able to just buy a rip chain and go to town.  I really like the rip chain I got from baileysonline.com( 63 gauge .375).  My saw is a Stihl MS660 with an exhaust/intake and porting, so it is cranking out some power. I have a 4 ft bar on it and it will run it buried in walnut with out a hint of bogging down.

Sweet Zombie Jesus

So I have been neglecting my blog... a lot. The youtube channel is getting a lot of views and this just kind of fell by the way side. I think I am going to resurrect this blog...

Farm Stands and CSA

So our farm is really growing (pun intended). Last year we sold bread and what vegges we had left over from our garden. This year we are getting bigger working on having a better display as you can see and more volume of vegges.  This week was a really good week for sales.  During the Saturday market I sold about 80 lb of tomatoes which is a record for us.  One of the market big boys has taken notice and was commenting how good our stand looks. I think we are starting to cut in to his sales.   I may set up a small CSA next year but am really on the fence.  I just don't like the idea of having to have enough for a market basket each week.

Dodecadeer

Got this on my game camera in one of my fields. Hope to see it again during deer season.

Shop Progress

I have been working in the shop when ever I get a chance.  I think its coming along nicely, about all I need to to now is run the dust collector ducting over to the CNC.  Now that its more or less set up I will try to post some project videos and write ups on here.
